Drake AdamsDARLINGTON, S.C. – William “Drake” Adams, a senior for the Darlington High School Falcons, signed a letter of intent Friday afternoon to play baseball for Coker College.

Joined by family, friends and coaches, the right-handed pitcher inked his commitment to play for the Cobras. Adams thanked those who have supported him through the years.

“I just wanted to say thanks to my parents, family and friends who have sacrificed a lot for me to get where I am today,” he said. “It’s been one of the biggest goals of my life, and it’s taken a lot of hard work. I’m really excited to go play for Coker. It’s just a really big dream of mine.”

Darlington head coach Dennis Gearhart described Adams as a diligent and team-focused player.

“We’re extremely proud of Drake and his hard work and dedication over the last four years.” he said. “He’s a very humble kid, and he’s worked hard for this opportunity. It’s well deserved on his part. He’s a great teammate, and I think Coker’s going to be very excited to have him join their staff next year.”

Additionally, Adams said he chose Coker College for its high academic standards. He intends to study Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine and one day attend medical school.
