
DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington County School District (DCSD) music teachers are singing the praises of 14 high school students named to the 2018 South Carolina All-State Chorus and four elementary students named to the Elementary State Honor Choir this year.
“We are so proud of these students and teachers who are committed to building excellence in their programs,” said Marisa Johnson, DCSD’s Arts and Innovative Programs coordinator. “Way to go and job well done.”
Under the direction of Chorus Director Dr. Jim Beaumier, 11 students from Hartsville High School made the All-State Chorus:

• Archie Torain, senior
• Christopher Beasley, senior
• JaDira Fields, senior
• Elianna Thompson, senior
• Larissa Berger, junior
• Lee Saxton, junior
• Khalif Muhammad, senior
• Diaz Jones, sophomore
• John Ropp, sophomore
• Logan Vlachoyannis, sophomore
Led by Band and Chorus Director Cole Davis, three students from Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology made the All-State Chorus:
• Landen Allen, junior
• Tyler Coleman, senior
• Adrian Pooler, sophomore
Four DCSD students were named to the Elementary State Honor Choir. Those students and their teachers are:
• Nyshayla Cade, Brockington Elementary Magnet School fifth grader (Chloe Spitzer)
• Aliyah Brown, Rosenwald Elementary/Middle School fifth grader (Chloe Spitzer)
• Haylei Gee, Spaulding Elementary School fifth grader (Dawn Kirven)
• Calliope Williams, Thornwell School for the Arts fourth grader (Brandon Hutson)
