The mission of Darlington County School District’s secondary education department is to provide middle and high school students with the curricular opportunities required for success in post-secondary education and the work force.  The middle school and high school programs are designed to meet the needs and characteristics of adolescent and young adult learners and be student-centered and content driven. We facilitate the implementation of the South Carolina Academic Standards and ensure instruction that is rich in rigor, relevance and relationships.  The department collaborates with the departments of exceptional education, assessment, math and science, and fine arts to ensure a comprehensive program suited to the needs of every student.
