Dr. B. Jane Hursey, Director of Human Resources, is a product of the Darlington County School District, having graduated from the former St. John's High School. She received her B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from Furman University and earned her M.S. in School Administration from George Peabody College for Teachers of Vanderbilt University. She took her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education from the University of Virginia with a double major in Curriculum and Instruction and School Leadership and a minor in Supervision. With over 30+ years in education, she has been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, district administrator, Superintendent, and an adjunct professor at the college level. With a true love for children and understanding that there is no more important element in a child's education than the quality of the teacher in the classroom, she, along with her department, take seriously the responsibility to recruit and retain excellent teachers.
