Darlington County Social Workers serve as a link from the home, school, and community, and provide direct and indirect services to students, families, and school personnel, including social-dvelopmental assessments and case management.  The provide individual and group counseling, crisis prevention and intervention, home visits, support groups, parent education, advocacy for students, parents, and the system.

    Vanessa Sansbury is the Lead Social Worker and is located at the BA Gary Educational Complex - 100 Magnolia Street, Darlington, SC.  Her telephone number is (843) 398-2631.  Mrs. Sansbury is responsible for Brunson Dargan, Cain, Pate, St. John's, Rosenwald, North Hartsville, Southside Early Childhood Center, and Washington Street.

    Naomi Carter is located at Spaulding Middle School, 400 East Cartersville Highway, Lamar, SC.  Her telephone number is (843) 326-7638.  Mrs. Carter is responsible for Brockington, Lamar, Spaulding, Carolina, Thornwell and West Hartsville Elementary Schools.
    
    Julia Peterson, DCSD Attendance Supervisor, will be responsible for Darlington Middle, Darlington High, Darlington Intervention School, Mayo Magnet, Hartsville Middle, Hartsville High, Lamar High, and Spaulding Middle Schools.  Her office is located at the BA Gary Educational Complext at 100 Magnolia Street, Darlington.  She may be reached at (843) 398-2630.  Mrs. Peterson will be responsible for referring social work concerns from her respective schools to Mrs. Sansbury and Mrs. Carter.  She will also be responsible for making the referrals from the District to Court for child neglect, truancy, education neglect, etc.
