DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington County School District is excited to announce a new COVID-19 PCR testing program for all students, faculty and staff. Testing will be provided to all students, staff and faculty free of charge.
There are two important changes for the students, employees and community members to be aware of with this new program:
• This COVID-19 testing program can only be provided to DCSD students and employees. Unlike the district’s previous COVID-19 testing, this new program is being funded through a grant from S.C. DHEC. The grant only allows the district to provide testing to students, faculty and staff. The district cannot provide testing for families of students and staff.
• The registration process for testing is different than the program the district offered earlier this school year.
Testing will be available at the District’s Administrative Offices in Darlington and the former West Hartsville Elementary School building, next to Kelleytown Stadium, in Harsville.
The free testing will begin on Monday, Jan. 10, at 8 a.m. Testing will be available from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at both locations.
If a DCSD student or employee would like to be tested through this program, they must visit the following website and follow the registration instructions:
You must register at that website in order to be tested. You will not need to schedule an appointment for this testing program as you did with the previous program. Simply visit the website and register. After you have registered yourself or your child, proceed to the either of the two testing sites during the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to be tested. You can test at either location regardless of where you live in the county.
This testing program will be administered through Mako Medical. Test results will be available within 24-48 hours. You will receive your test results by text message to the cell phone number provided during the online registration. Please take care in putting in your contact information during registration to avoid communication issues.
This information will also be posted on the front page of the DCSD district website.
