Darlington County School District Announces Registration for the 2023-24 School Year
DARLINGTON, SC - Registration for new and returning students for the 2023-2024 school year will open May 15 and continue until June 26, according to the Darlington County School District (DCSD).
You can register online by clicking here beginning Monday, May 15.
The district's online PowerSchool Registration Portal allows parents to register students and upload the required proof of residency and other documents, such as updated records, sports physicals, and certain legal documents.
Parents of current DCSD students will receive an email with their children's login credentials called "SNAPCODES." The email will come from "Darlington County School District
[email protected]" SNAPCODES are needed to register online unless parents use their ParentPortal access. New students will not need SNAPCODES or Parent Portal to register.
Parents who need assistance with registration or obtaining login credentials can call their child's home school Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. during the online registration window. Every school will have staff ready to assist parents with the registration process. However, parents may need to leave a message or call back due to high call volume.
Families of RETURNING STUDENTS may access the registration link from home beginning May 15, 2023.
Parents may access online registration in several ways:
DISTRICT WEBSITE: From the district website (www.dcsdschools.org), click on "Students and Parents" and then "2023-2024 Returning Student Registration."
You can also click on the news story under "District News & Announcements."
You will need your student's unique SNAPCODE to enter.
PARENT PORTAL: Log into your previously created Parent Portal account (
https://dcsdsc.powerschool.com/), and then click on "Registration for Returning student 2023-2024"
SNAPCODE: Click on the Snapcode link provided in the email with the student's SNAPCODE. This takes you directly to the 2023-2024 Registration portal. Enter your credentials from last year OR Create New Account with new credentials (only if necessary).
Students who have applied to attend any DCSD magnet program or a different school through the district's Expanded School Choice program must register first with their home school during the online registration period.
New students, including 4K and 5K students not previously registered, will also register through the online portal by selecting "New Student Registration." New students will not need a SNAPCODE. Parents and guardians of new students should be prepared to upload a .pdf or .jpg file of the materials listed below. Parents who are unable to upload the documents should contact their home school.
Items Needed for NEW Student Registration:
-- Proof of residency - A tax notice, a landline telephone bill, a bill for cable service connected to the residence, or a utility bill such as water, gas, and electric will be accepted. A cell phone bill and/or a driver's license cannot be used to prove residency.
-- Immunization Record (this includes 7th-grade TDAP)
-- Birth Certificate
-- (For 4K Only) Proof of income/S.C. Healthy Connection Medicaid Card
To register a child for 4K, the child must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023. A child must turn five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023, to register for 5K. A registration slot for 4K will only be reserved for a child with documented proof of residence and proof of income. Available spaces are limited, and preference is given to those students whose family meets state income requirements.
It is recommended that parents use a desktop or laptop computer or a tablet to complete the online registration process. While it is possible to use a mobile phone to register, it is easier to navigate the site on a larger device.
