DARLINGTON, S.C. – The Darlington County Board of Education approved the hire of Dawn Johnson as the Darlington County School District’s (DCSD) new food services director. The approval came during the board’s monthly meeting on Monday.
DCSD Superintendent Dr. Tim Newman said the district looks forward to Johnson bringing her experience and passion to Darlington County.
“We are excited for Dawn Johnson to join us in the Darlington County School District,” Newman said. “Providing tasty, nutritious and appealing meals to children is essential, and we believe she will bring outstanding leadership in her new role.”
Johnson spent the past 10 years as the food service director for Dillon School District Four. Prior to that, she served as the assistant to the food service director. She also has several years of professional office experience.
Johnson will take over for longtime DCSD Director of Food Services Pamela Vaughan, who is retiring at the end of June.
