Hartsville High School introduces Justin Johnson as new head girls’ basketball coach

Justin JohnsonHARTSVILLE, S.C. – Hartsville High School (HHS) introduced Justin Johnson as its new head girls’ basketball coach Tuesday morning during a press conference held inside the HHS arena.

Johnson most recently served as the head boys’ basketball coach at Cheraw High School as well as a teacher of physical education at Long Middle School.

HHS Athletics Director Jamie Horton said she expects Johnson’s experience will prove valuable moving forward.

“Mr. Johnson has an extensive basketball background and has worked at several levels with both men's and women's programs,” Horton said. “We are looking forward to him coming in and making a positive impact in our girls’ basketball program.”

Along with coaching, Johnson will teach Physical Education at several schools in the district.

Johnson’s other professional experience includes work as a junior varsity basketball head coach, assistant varsity basketball coach, head boys’ tennis coach and an assistant athletics director.

He holds a Master of Science in Leadership, Human Resource Management from Pfeiffer University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Newberry College.
