DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington High School star student-athlete Cameron Hare will play women’s basketball for Converse College next year after a signing ceremony held Thursday afternoon.
Hare, a point guard and shooting guard, celebrated her commitment to Converse in the school’s media center. Her family, school administration, coaches and teammates joined her to celebrate.
Darlington High Principal Cortney Gehrke praised Hare’s character as much as her abilities on the court.
“Cameron has been a dedicated Falcon player, demonstrating her commitment to excellence,” Gehrke said. “She is respected by her coaches and peers, and in the future she wants to be a physical therapist to help others. We are so proud of her, and we can’t wait to see her succeed in college.”
As a shooting guard and point guard, she averaged 9 points per game, 4 assists per game and 2 steals per game during her senior year. She earned All-Region honors the past two seasons, and she was also named team captain the past two years.
