
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A trio of softball stars and a top-ranked golfer from Hartsville High School inked letters of intent Nov. 14 to play collegiately.
The signing ceremony took place inside the school’s arena in front of the entire student body, family, friends and coaches.
Abigayle Stokes, Gracie Jordan and Blaze MacArthur will all continue their softball careers after graduating. Stokes will play for Lander University. Jordan will play for Florence-Darlington Technical College, and MacArthur will play for Queens University of Charlotte.
Daniel Coker will join the golf team at Anderson University. According to S.C. Junior Golf Association rankings, Coker is the third ranked player in the Class of 2020 and the 11th ranked player in the state overall. He earned Region 6-4A Player of the Year recognition in 2018.
Stokes excelled both defensively and offensively last season. As a pitcher, she notched a 9-0 record with a 1.05 ERA and recorded 35 strikeouts. She also batted .495 on the season with 12 RBIs, two triples, two doubles and 11 stolen bases.
Jordan recorded seven doubles and a triple en route to a .314 average. She also stole two bases.
MacArthur’s 27 RBIs led the team. She batted .391 on the season with a homerun, 10 doubles, three triples and three stolen bases.
