LAMAR, S.C. – Shane Amerson, a star football player for Lamar High School who attends Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology, recently signed a national letter of intent to play for North Greenville University next year.
Joined by family and coaches, Amerson celebrated his commitment during a ceremony at the school on Feb. 25.
During his time at Lamar, Amerson helped guide the Silver Foxes to three Upper State titles and a Class A state championship.
Amerson’s outstanding senior season, during which he recorded 29 pancake blocks, landed him on the inaugural South Carolina Coaches Association’s All-State Team. The Coaches Association named him the Class A Upper State Lineman of the Year, and he made WPDE ABC 15’s 2019 All-Zone Team. He also earned a spot in the 2019 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl.
