2021-22 Magnet Program online application open now through Nov. 30

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Students and families interested in one of eight robust magnet programs in the Darlington County School District can apply online now for the 2021-22 school year.
The Magnet online application opened this year on Thursday, Sept. 24, and will close Monday, Nov. 30, at 4:30 p.m.

The eight magnet programs in DCSD are:
1. Brockington Elementary Magnet School
2. Thornwell School of the Arts
3. Darlington Middle School Science & Technology Magnet Program
4. Hartsville Middle School Arts Magnet Program
5. Darlington High School Early College Honors Program
6. Hartsville High School International Baccalaureate Programme
7. Mayo High School for Math, Science & Technology
8. Governor’s School Accelerate PreEngineering Program (Housed at Mayo High)
When visiting the district’s Magnet Programs page, listed above, you will find more information on the magnet application process and programs. Also, when you scroll down the page, you will see a video for each of the magnet programs.
Applicants will need to have a valid email address, because all correspondences will be sent to that address.
For students applying to the high school magnet programs, an essay portion is required in order to complete the application process. It is recommended that you draft your essay first before starting the application and then come back to complete the online application.
