
DARLINGTON, S.C. – Seven student-athletes at Darlington High School (DHS) across three sports signed letters of intent recently to play collegiately next year.
The day marked the largest single group of athletic signings that Principal Cortney Gehrke could recall.
“These seven young ladies demonstrate excellence in both the classroom and in athletics’,” Gehrke said. “We are excited to see their success at the next level.”
Justyce Moses, a sprinter on the DHS track and field team, signed with Wingate University.
Kanaya Jones, a shortstop on the DHS softball team, signed with Lander University.
Madelynn “Madie” Andrews, a pitcher for the DHS softball team, signed with Spartanburg Methodist College.
Amber Rogers, who plays third base for the DHS softball team, signed with Florence-Darlington Technical College.
Savannah Anderson, a goalie for the DHS soccer team, signed with the University of South Carolina Sumter.
Isabelle Thomas, a forward on the DHS soccer team, signed with the University of South Carolina Sumter.
Omega “Meg” O'Neil, a midfielder on the DHS soccer team, signed with University of South Carolina Sumter.
The school held a socially distanced signing ceremony for the student-athletes in its gymnasium. Parents and coaches joined the players for the event.
