DARLINGTON, S.C. – The Darlington County School District invites the public to attend open house drop-ins for its three newly built elementary schools. The district intended to hold the open houses in July 2020, shortly after the buildings opened, but the events were postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Parents and community members of these newly built schools – Lamar-Spaulding Elementary in Lamar, J.L. Cain Elementary in Darlington, and Bay Road Elementary in Hartsville – have yet to explore the state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities now available to their students. The district is excited to invite the communities in to see the opportunities now available to those students.
The district will hold an open house for Lamar-Spaulding Elementary on Sunday, March 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. The school is located at 5232 Lamar Highway in Lamar.
The district will then hold simultaneous open houses for J.L. Cain Elementary and Bay Road Elementary on Sunday, March 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. J.L. Cain Elementary is located at 605 First Street in Darlington, and Bay Road Elementary is located at 1251 Bay Road in Hartsville.
During the open house events, attendees will be able to explore the schools, peer into spacious and technology-rich classrooms and also check out media centers and cafeterias.
