Faison's holiday card art contest winnerDARLINGTON, S.C. – London'Kyrel Faison, a second-grade student at the Darlington County Virtual Academy (DCVA), is the winner of the Darlington County School District’s (DCSD) 2022 Holiday Card Art Contest. Faison's drawing, which features a penguin and snowman dressed in winter apparel and Santa flying overhead with his sleigh, will be printed on the front cover of the district’s official holiday card.

This year, the Holiday Card Art Contest included DCSD students in grades K-2. Each elementary school and the DCVA’s elementary grades selected a school winner from artwork submitted by their students. Employees in DCSD’s Administrative Office then voted on an overall winner from among the 10 finalists.

Faison will receive a certificate, $50 and a packet of holiday cards featuring the winning artwork. DCVA art teacher Dee Driggers will receive $100 for art supplies for her school. Faison's winning artwork
