Out of District Release Request

This application period will open on March 1, 2024. Once the application has opened, there will be a link at the bottom of this page. 

State law governs the enrollment of students in school districts where they do not reside.  Students may attend school out of their resident district under the following exceptions to state law:  1) wherein a student living in another county may be released to attend a school in the non-resident county if they reside closer to the non-resident school, or 2) the student owns real estate in the non-resident county with a tax assessment value of $300 or more. 3) the students parent is a full time employee of another school district and wishes the for the child to enroll in the school district of which they are employed.

 

All releases will be emailed to the parent. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide the new school with the release from the Darlington County School District.
