Darlington County School District hosts Transition Open Houses for students with disabilities
DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington County students with disabilities and their parents visited open house events recently, hosted by the Darlington County Transition Team, to learn all about varying services focused on life after school.
The Darlington County Transition Team is an interagency team that works toward improving post-secondary outcomes for students with disabilities. “Passport to Success,” the official name of the open house events, connected students with agencies and educational organizations in the local community and throughout the state. Students and their families were able to make connections with these agencies to learn more about their options after high school. The Transition Team hosted the open houses at Darlington High and Hartsville High schools for a couple hours each night.
“The Darlington County Transition Team appreciates all of the support provided by participating agencies, local businesses and Darlington County School District, as well as the students and families who attended these events,” said Sarah Tew, Darlington County School District’s exceptional education secondary coordinator. “We look forward to working together to provide opportunities for our students in the future.”
