DARLINGTON, SC – Today the Darlington County School District released the revised 2017-2018 school district calendar to incorporate the recent inclement weather days. Students lost three instructional days due to inclement weather this year, one for the hurricane in September and two as a result of the recent snow. The school district will utilize all three designated inclement weather make-up days built in to the calendar: Feb. 16, Mar. 30 and Apr. 27. These days will now become normal school days and attendance will be taken as usual.
• Feb. 16 is now a regular school day to make up for Sept. 11 (hurricane)*
• Mar. 30 is now a regular school day to make up for Jan. 4 (snow)
• Apr. 27 is now a regular school day to make up for Jan. 5 (snow)
Parent-Teacher conferences will take place from 4-7p.m. on Feb. 15. Additional parent-teacher conferences will be available for the week of Feb. 19 as determined and communicated by individual schools.
The two missed days will also impact the end of the quarter, teacher workdays and report cards. The quarters will now end on Jan. 22 and Mar. 27. Further, Jan. 23 and March 27 will be early dismissal days for students so teachers may work on grades and report cards.
