Tyler Boyd, a Lamar native, will take over as Lamar High School’s (LHS) head varsity football coach, the school announced during a press conference Friday afternoon.
Registration for new and returning students for the 2025-26 school year will open Monday, April 14, according to the Darlington County School District (DCSD).
The Roster of Fellows is one of the most prestigious awards given by the AOTA. According to the organization, the award recognizes members who, through their knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and guidance, have made a significant contribution over time to the profession with a measured impact on consumers of occupational therapy services and/or members of the AOTA.
The Darlington County School District’s Teacher Forum announced this week the Teacher Feature winners for April. The program recognizes one teacher from each school to honor excellence in education.
Tiffany Holmes, a seventh grade English/Language Arts teacher at Darlington Middle School, recently earned recognition with the 2025 Innovation in Practice Award from the S.C. Association for Middle Level Educators.
“We are grateful for Dr. Newman’s dedication to our students, schools, and community,” said Wanda Hassler, chairman of the Darlington County Board of Education.
The event, which is a culmination of the largest art contest in the district, was held at Hartsville Middle School and concluded with the crowning of 20 school winners and four grand prize winners.
Their presentation explained how DCSD is helping students and teachers use AI effectively and responsibly. Jefferson is DCSD’s director of digital learning, and Skaris is the district’s instructional technology coordinator. With years of classroom teaching and public school administrative experience, Jefferson and Skaris are helping to guide the district’s implementation of AI technologies.
