The Darlington County School District’s Teacher Forum announced this week the Teacher Feature winners for April. The program recognizes one teacher from each school to honor excellence in education.

Online registration for the 2026-27 school year opens Friday, April 3, 2026, for the Darlington County School District (DCSD). Guided by its commitment to each child, every day, DCSD is ready to welcome the next class of students. Families can register now to take advantage of the district’s strong academic programs and opportunities. Space is still available in the district’s 4K and 5K programs, offering young learners a strong start in DCSD.

During the Awards Ceremony, which was held this year in the Conference Center at Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology, the four 2026 Art in Business Grand Prize winners were revealed.

DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Dr. Stephanie Bridges, principal of J. L. Cain Elementary School, announced today she will step down at the end of the school year to pursue other professional opportunities.

The Darlington County School District recently hosted an inaugural Pre-Concert Performance Assessment, providing student musicians with valuable performance experience and professional feedback as they prepare for upcoming state evaluations.

Community Listening Sessions are scheduled for:

• March 10 at 6 p.m. – Lamar-Spaulding Elementary School (Lamar)
• March 17 at 6 p.m. – Black Creek Elementary School (Darlington)
• March 19 at 6 p.m. – Hartsville High School (Hartsville)

The event, marking the beginning of yet another round of paid, real-world work experiences for students, was held inside the Conference Center of Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology. 

DCSD announced today that Nateisha Taylor will become the district’s new director of Student Services and Federal Programs. Taylor brings more than 24 years of education experience to the role, including more than 20 years with the Darlington County School District.
