Class of 2024 Earns Nearly $39 million In scholarships

This year’s high school seniors from the Darlington County School District (DCSD) earned $38,920,160 through a combination of state lottery, service, military, private and college-sponsored scholarships. Of the total, $4.5 million came from the South Carolina state scholarships: Life, Hope and Palmetto Fellows. Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology 2024 graduates led the way with more than $19.8 million in potential college funding. Hartsville High seniors netted more than $9.1 million, Darlington High students earned $7.8 million, and Lamar High graduates accumulated $2.3 million.

“We are excited about our senior’s scholarship offers to help them on their next steps towards their desired future,” said Dr. Tim Newman, DCSD superintendent. “I am grateful to all of our institutions that have committed to furthering our graduates' education journey”.
