DHS student-athletes sign letters of intent

DARLINGTON, S.C. – The next generation of collegiate athletes hailing from Darlington High School (DHS) signed national letters of intent Wednesday, Feb. 7. The signing ceremony took place inside the school’s media center in front of a large crowd of coaches, family members, friends and teammates.

The student-athletes who saw years of work on and off the field and court guide them to a future in college included:

·       McKinley Atkinson

·       Keenan DuBose

·       Whittney Turner

Atkinson signed with Coker University’s wrestling squad. Dubose will head to Presbyterian College to play football. Turner is joining the softball team at Florence-Darlington Technical College.

DHS Athletic Director Jamie Norris spoke prior to the ceremony. He praised the effort and dedication of Atkinson, Dubose and Turner. He said he hopes their success will encourage other students at the school to strive to reach their potential.
