DARLINGTON, S.C. – Kariss Wells, a fifth-grade student at J.L. Cain Elementary School (JLC), is the winner of the Darlington County School District’s (DCSD) 2023 Holiday Card Art Contest.

Wells’ drawing, which features one particularly happy red-nosed reindeer in a wintry scene, will be printed on the front cover of the district’s official holiday card.

This year, the Holiday Card Art Contest included DCSD students in grades 3-5. Each elementary school selected a school winner from artwork submitted by their students. Employees in DCSD’s Administrative Office then voted on an overall winner from among the 9 finalists.
