CU-Prepares - Alternative Certification Program

This program is dedicated to preparing future teachers who do not have a background in education through a hands-on residency model. CU-PREPARES initiative is designed to increase the number of highly qualified educators certified to teach in shortage subject area for high-needs, rural schools, and increase student achievement in SC's Pee Dee region by embedding teacher residents with trained mentor teachers for a full academic year. Teacher residents will also receive a $40,000 living stipend while learning to teach!

CU-PREPARES is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education Teacher Quality Partnership grant through Clemson University.
